Born in Bulgaria to two professional water skiers, Gary immigrated to Atlanta, Georgia at the age of three. He is now based in Brooklyn, New York, where he works as a freelance commercial Director and Cinematographer.

Gary’s work spans fashion, beauty, music videos, and branded content. He is known for his collaborative approach on set, bringing together exceptional teams, maintaining high morale, and delivering on creative and production goals.

In 2020 He lensed the Vietnamese short film, Grandma’s Four Color Cards, which premiered at TIFF in 2024 and was an official selection at SXSW in 2025.

Beyond commercial work, Gary’s practice extends into video art and experimental media. He creates immersive visual experiences using analog video, CRT television walls, VHS cameras, projection and video synthesis. His installation work includes collaborations with A24’s Marty Supreme, Airbnb, Hugo Boss, Mienne, and others.
